Iron Man TrophySince its inception in 1980, the Iron Man Trophy has been presented to the best overall team at the So Cal State Championship. The award represents the Men's program with the most depth, and the winner takes home the perpetual trophy which is passed on from club to club each year. As the top-ranked team in Southern California, an "Iron Man: Club of the Year" plaque is also presented to the team to post in their gym for perpetuity. Scores are taken from each level at the State Championship, and the award is calculated by adding up individual scores from the following categories:*

  • Level 5: 2 All-Around scores (Age 7-9)
  • Level 6: 2 All-Around scores (Age 8-11)
  • Level 7 or 8: 2 All-Around scores
  • Level 9 or 10: 2 All-Around scores
  • Level 10: 1 All-Around Score

The team with the highest cumulative score wins SCMGA's most prestigious award.

*Note: The scoring rules above were modified starting with the 2007 season. In previous years, the Iron Man scoring system used 2 Level 5 (7-9) scores, 2 Level 6 (8-11) scores, 2 Level 7, 8, or 9 scores, and 2 Level 8 or 10 scores.
